Radio Cuts out issue

Radio Cuts out issue
My radio is cutting in and out as I drive and hit bumps. I am not sure what exactly is causing it and wouldn't find the wiring diagram. It isn't the radio itselve however, it is a relay or switch or something on the drivers bloor above the brake somewhere. I can hear it clicking as the radio cuts in and out. What could it be?

Describe better. The power goes on and off? Reception? Output? OEM radio or aftermarket? New install? Anything else done in the area recently? Have an aftermarket alarm? Perhaps something from the alarm is tapping something and is unrelated? Are you certain that all connections to the OEM plug, wire harness, plug to the radio and connections between the radio plug and the adapter are good? Soldered? Taped or shrink-wrapped? Lastly, check the antenna plug in the back of the radio.

Sorry should have been more descriptive. Aftermarket but has been in for a year now. The power on the radio stays on but everything cuts out. Doesn't matter if its the radio, the cd, or the ipod it cuts out. All the connections on the back are good. They are taped bt I retaped them. It just goes compeltely silent, then if I hit a bump the right way again it kicks back in perfectly. Sometimes if I smack the panel by my left knee it kicks back in too.

I'm thinking a loose connection in the fuse panel. Perhaps the ACC power is ok which is why it stays on, but the constant power is loose causing it to get messed up. The fuse panel is near the location that you are describing, so I'd look there. If you have an alarm or autostarter, there are even more wires down there that have been messed with. If I were you, I'd check out the fuse panel and if it's too messy, I'd probably just run a mainline to the battery with an inline fuse. Maybe also a relay from another switched circuit to create a new ACC feed.
First look for a loose wire behind the fuse panel.
