Just buy a new bolt and you have the washers. The pan should be good. Was there oil residue before the oil change if not tighten up clean and see what you get.

I know I changed my plug to magnetic one years ago never a leak.

It also looks like there is a leak on the pan gasket

Hey, thanks for your reply.

I took videos of before and after the cleaning and tightening of the bolt. Unfortunately I cannot upload the files here as they are too big in size so I have attached a Google Photos link to the videos in the following link:

May I ask what the head size of the OEM drain bolt is? Is it 17mm? I've been confused for so long, thinking that it was 14mm but now I realize that that is the thread size.

Also, a magnetic plug sounds like a good idea. Do you have a link to where I can maybe purchase one?

It's 14mm. At least on 2 of my own Accords, along with the Civic and the Acura sitting in my yard.

The OEM thread size is 14mm, while the hex head size is 17mm.

The 18mm hex head size drain plug that was on there is probably an oversized drain plug used due stripped threads in the oil pan.

Here's another possibility. If the 05 Accord V6 is like the 04 V6 in my Odyssey (likely), the original drain plug has very short threads and can easily strip the threads in the aluminum pan. A simple fix for a stripped drain plug is to buy a longer bolt of the same thread because the pan has threads twice as deep as the OE drain plug, and screw it into the remaining threads; I had to do this on the Odyssey which I bought used. The replacement (longer) bolt I bought from Ace Hardware has an 18mm head.

This is the one I purchased. With a 16mm head M14-1.50 The original gaskets work well with it.
