Default Speedometer Question

Hey all,

So I put in a new main engine harness, new alternator, and the two transmission control solenoids. The car runs and shifts now, so I believe it’s almost back road worthy, but I have found a new problem and I haven’t been able to find a thread with the problem I’m having yet.

When i crank up the car, it idles fine, but it shows I’m going 20mph even sitting still. This is the same in neutral. I found several forums about a bad cluster and resoldering the spots. However, mine isn’t stuck on 20, and when I drop it into drive, it goes to 0 mph like normal. Also on a test drive it seems to be fine, or at least accurate. It doesn’t get stuck at 20 at least.

Thank you guys for your help!

What year, engine, trim, etc Accord are you driving?

Can you set the cruise control where it maintains speed while driving?

Sorry. It’s a 2011 EXL with the 3.5.
After I changed the solenoids I did a road test. Now it’s back to not having reverse without shifting to drive first. However, once the speedometer goes over 40 I can set the cruise. But the gauge is way off.

Check the PCM connections. Make sure there are no bent terminals, terminals are clean, connectors installed tightly, etc.

I did. I’m hoping I don’t have to change the PCM. The alternator melted down and that’s what started all of this.
