Default starting problems

I have an 03 accord ex 4door sedan automatic 2.4l I recently started having issues with it starting.. I took it in for a diagnostic and they said it was the flywheel upon further investigation i've found that it's not likely that a flywheel will go out. my next thought would be the starter however i just replaced the starter 2 yrs ago... the battery is brand new. but the funny thing is it won't start on its own but if it's jumped it will... anyone else have this issue or have any idea as to what this could be?

check the battery ground, or could possibly be a bad (new) battery

then definitely check the ground wire. And to be clear, i don't just mean the connection at the terminal... i mean make sure 1. the ground wire is in good shape, and 2. the connection on the other end of the ground wire is good.

based on starting fine when you jump start it, you are essentially using the other cars ground when you hook the cables up, so if your ground is bad, it would basically be bypassed. If this is the case, you obviously have enough of a ground connection to keep your car running....

hope this helps.

We need some more information.

What happens when you turn the key to start the car? Does the starter spin the engine at the normal rate, do you hear one loud click from the engine bay, or does nothing happen?

If the starter is spinning the engine properly, does the car not fire up (that is when the engine is running on its own and you release the key).

Just want to get a better idea of what happens and get the terminology straight.
