Strange countdown on 2011 Accord SE instrument panel
Hello all,
There's a strange countdown in my 2011 Honda Accord's instrument panel.
It says "Service A -20"
I have no idea what that means. It was saying -5 when I got into the car, then as I drove in the slow rainy US-101 traffic, it kept counting down.
By the time I got home it was at -20.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It means you are past due for service. You either got an oil change before and the maintenance minder was not reset or you didn't get an oil change when it was due.
When the estimated oil life is 0%, the mileage past due is also shown.

If you didn't get an oil change recently, get it changed and have the maintenance minder reset. If there are any other maintenance items, get those done too.
With the 4 cylinders, old oil can cause your timing chain to wear quickly and stretch the chain, not a good thing. Can be very expensive to repair.
Keep up with regular oil changes and check the oil level regularly. The maintenance minder does not monitor oil levels.
