1 long and 5 short is ONE CODE being a code 15 not a code 5 found here: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...s-codes-33940/. a code 15 is the Kick down switch circuit shorted. i had that code myself and i have no idea what it means but i wanted to make sure you were chasing the correct code. the only thing i did was clean the screens on my shift and lock up solenoids as well as cleaning some corrosion off the connector of the shift solenoids.

below is a definition of what a shorted circuit is.

SHORT CIRCUIT A short circuit is an accidental path of low resistance which passes an abnormally high amount of current. A short circuit exists whenever the resistance of a circuit or the resistance of a part of a circuit drops in value to almost zero ohms. A short often occurs as a result of improper wiring or broken insulation.
now i apologize for not having more details about your problem but atleast you know what to chase.

also you should not have "bumped" your topic this many times in one day. you must be patient and allow people to get online and read your problem and perhaps do some research to help you solve your problem. these people (myself included) are here to help of our own free will. we don't HAVE to help people but want to help others with their problems. we want to help but don't like it when people are impatient like yourself.

Code 15 can be the following:

  • Disconnected mainshaft speed sensor
  • Short or open in mainshaft speed sensor wire
  • faulty mainshaft speed sensor
A code 15 does not always mean there is an electrical problem in the mainshaft or countershaft speed sensor circuit; code 15 can indicate a mechanical problem in the transmission.

You can download the service manual, via the DIY link above in this forum.
