Vibration in front end
Hey everyone, I’m not sure what else to do because I’m out of options with my car , I have a 2001 Honda Accord v6 and I have a vibration in the front end when I accelerate and let off and just coast , doesn’t happen at low speeds happens from 30 and above , I have replaced both front wheel bearings , front engine mount , both transmission mounts , both cv axles , both tie rod ends , both lower ball joints, have gotten an alignment, and my tires balanced and rotated them to see if the problem was in one of the rims , and no matter what the vibration won’t go away in the front end , any one have any clue of what it could be or have had the same issue and have done something different that has fixed it.
Let me ask a few questions to narrow things down.
1) You said accelerate and let off the gas to coast. Does it vibrate when accelerating or just when you let off the gas and coasting? or is it both but always over 30 MPH ?
2) Does the steering wheel waver when there is a vibration? In other words, does the steering wheel move from side to side when there is a vibration?
3) Do you have directional tires?
4) Are you sure there is no freeplay in the steering wheel? It looks like you changed the outer tierods. Are you sure the inner tierods are good?
5) As for braking, have you tried getting on the highway and LIGHTLY press the brakes, and also press the brakes in a normal manner. Is there any difference in the way it handles?
6) Are you sure the control arms arms are good? What about the struts? Try bouncing the front end and see if you hear a clicking or freeplay. When bouncing the front end, the car should stop bouncing in one cycle. In other words, when you push down on it, the car should come back up then back down just once.
