Default What should oil pressure gauge read?

Hey, don't flame on me cause I have searched for awhile!

Just installed mechanical oil pressure gauge in my 96 accord ex-r. F22b1. What should my pressure be at approximate across the board?

When warm at idle I'm getting about 18-20 psi. By 3k the gauge reads 65-75. Sometimes climbing to 80psi.

I'm just curious if that is what this engine runs for pressure or if my gauge is faulty.

My shop is closed for the holidays but I want to know !!

Any input is appreciated! Thanx!!

The readings you're seeing look pretty normal to me.

Minimum oil pressure specs are 10 psi at idle, and 50 psi at 3K rpms.

good luck

Ok cool.

Im guessing the higher pressure is for engaging vtec? The readings just seemed a little high.

Cold start ran 80psi this morning.

When my shop opens back up I'm going to hook my snap-on oil pressure tester gauge up to the block and get some true readings.

Thanx for your time and input!
