Why won't dealer install sunroof?
ORIGINAL: hondadude
IT WILL LEAK
The dealer doesn't want the headache of you showing up in the service drive everytime it rains.
Look at an EX model with the sunroof open and take careful note of the run/drain channels, also the factory model has drains going to all 4 corners of the car.
As stated earlier " I've NEVER seen an aftermarket sunroof that didn't leak"

It seems you guys have seena lot of bad aftermarket sunroofs (or bad installations). I was looking at a simple Genesis model from CR Laurence that is a pop up and has a inside camlock clamp lock. (Google it!) It's a flush seal to the roof of the car with no need for internal drains. I wouldn't want someexpensiveaftermarket electric moon roof - that's got problems written all over it.
I always thought SAABS were the safety standard in the auto industry...you could march Hannibals elephants across their roofs without them caving in. I'd never buya Saabafter having owned an '84 CRX and now this '01 Accord. But I've flown my share of commuter hours (into Boston Logan no less) in those ugly Saab commuter prop planes and I'm glad they never crashed with me in them. (and my old sunroofs never leaked either...am I just lucky? I'm gonna logout and buy a MegaMillions ticket tonite.)
I agree you won't use a sunroof in Cleveland from November thru March, but there's nuthin like hitting the road on a hot summer day and cracking open the roof to cool that car down in no time. Al Gore would be soo proud if we didn't hit the AC as much! And that is from the great red state of Ohio! Happy Super Tuesday!
