Headers and Heat
I checked the archives for this and didn't see anything, so please don't yell if I'm being dumb.
I live practically in the desert and I would like to install some headers on my 95 EX, but I'm worried about the heat. When it gets around 110 degrees outside and I'm sittin in traffic I don't want my headers to melt/crack/catch fire etc. Should I look into a hood with vents in it? Get one of those ebay grille inserts that supposedly allow in more air? Or what? I want the performance but not at the cost of cooking anything.
All help appreciated and go easy, I'm new.

I don't think you need to worry too much. The headers have to put up with a lot more than the ambient air temp, even if it is 100+. If you invest in a set of good quality headers, I don't see a problem.
if thats something your really worried about then go with ceramic headers, while it wont make the headers cool to the touch they do a damn job better than stock or stainless steal. The only drawback is the price, but totally worth it in my opinion
Thanks for the all the help, really appreciated. Looks like I'll look into those ceramic headers, besides the heat factor, are the steel or stainless steel ones more apt tp hold up over time?
Thanks again for the help.
Thanks again for the help.
