Default Looking for a a good Accord now

Hello people!

I’m in need of a second daily driver and I’m in position to bring one home at anytime now. Oddly I started out interested in other cars but yesterday I found a 2019 Accord LX with 55K miles that looked great! It was at a reputable Ford dealer’s used car lot. For $20,150. If it had leather seats and a couple more options I wouldn’t be here now.

My story begins with our twins going off to college at different locations. My wife gave up her Prius to our daughter and I had a little bit newer Prius I fixed up to give to our son. I bought an old Buick LeSaber from an elderly aunt that couldn’t drive any longer just to get by since my wife works from home but occasionally she has to go in on Mondays a couple times a month. She hates that car so much that it’s in my best interest to replace it.

I’m looking for guidance as my direction is focused on a 2019 or newer Accord but in a a better trim level than a LX. Presently I have some confusion over an EX, EX-L, Sport and Touring XE. At times I find some conflicting descriptions between the trims, I just want it known that I prefer a near fully loaded with options car, not necessarily EVERY option because some are ridiculous and not worth the expense nor do I want $3,000 wheels, pay extra for custom paint or black trim.

Other than looking on Edmonds or Kellys Blue Book, I don’t know if what I find is a great deal or not (not sure I can trust a “cars for sale website.

I’m going to copy to this thread my latest find that I really like and very close to pulling the trigger unless I could beat the price or find a better car.
Help me please!

I’m disappointed when I logged in to the dealer website to see this car is now unavailable. Yesterday, Saturday, I didn’t think it would be gone if I waited just one more day and go Monday, besides - I really wasn’t doing well from a recent surgery and needed to sit back a day.
There does seem to be a great difference between a brand new and a used Accord. MSRP is $31,000 on a 2024, on a 2020 is offered for $27,000. Four thousand in four years? It doesn’t make much sense.

knock-knock, anybody home?

Hey Rich,
I may be biased, but I think my 9th generation accord is pretty good. It is the biggest model they have in length and width and maybe the heaviest too, I'm not sure. I do ranch work and I have picked up animal feed, hay, mulch, and other stuff that I can pretty easily fit in my trunk and backseats. In today's world, I honestly think that the price drop between a new car and a lightly used car is pretty standard amongst most makes and models just because the only difference most of the time is the excitement of buying a new car. Personally, I steer away from cars with under 30k on them because why would someone dump a car with that long of a lifespan ahead of it unless there was something wrong with it? The good thing about accords is that the engine/transmission/electronics layout is pretty straightforward and makes it easy to find and work on most if not all parts, so even buying a used car that needs something replaced wouldn't be too daunting of a job if you have the time. Best of luck car shopping, I hope you end up with an accord!
