I had the dealer install a driver side lower ball joint and do an alignment. My dealer charges the same as the local shops, and it's nearby my work. So they fix it while I'm there.

Ball joint at dealer, $236.00
Ball joint at local mechanic. $239.00

Instead of just a ball joint, I replaced the entire passenger side control arm with ball joint.
$35.00
Took about 30 minutes.

I also added an after market digital thermometer to show the outside air temp in my 97 accord.

I also took the cig light plug and clipped the hot wire on it and attached it to a constant hot that way, I don't have to have the key on to use my phone charger. Otherwise, I'd have to sit in my car with the key turned and the phone charging.

It's 30 degrees and wet snow here. I have a nice garage, but for that job, I would need to by a couple of more tools. The standard labor rate for that job is 1.5 hrs. it would probably take me 6, and no alignment machine at my house.
I had the Honda guys do the job, with the Honda part. I can sleep better.

Yep, I make those decisions as well...it is cold here (to me anyway) and I'm getting older, the Pilot needed a valve adjustment. Last weekend was cold and wet, this weekend they are saying the same.....so I dropped it off at a shop near work where they do Honda/Acura/Toy/Lex work. She is nice and quiet and ready for a long hard road trip later next week.
