I certainly do not have that unit under the dash.

I'm just trying to understand the unique behavior of my vehicle. It automatically turns on only the high beams whenever the weather is cloudy or it rains.
And I don't have the "auto" feature on the headlight switch/**** either.

Maybe I should stop referring to it as DRL since it isn't on all day. This would prevent any confusion.

Let me take a guess at this. Do you have the black ball in the center of the dash? If so try covering it up to see if it activates the DRLs.

I'm just taking a stab at this because it is confusing to me also.

The automatic lighting feature that turns on the headlights and all other exterior lights, when it senses low ambient light, started with certain 2008 Accord models. It did not exist for 2005 Accord models.

Automatic lighting off was a feature that existed with 2005 Accords. This feature does not utilize an Automatic Lighting Sensor/Sunlight Sensor.

Yes. I have that. That's the sunlight sensor.
And I've done that. Covered the sensor and took a 30 min drive on a sunny day. The high beams didn't turn on.
That's why I think it reads other factors in addition to determine when to turn on high beams. (probably ambient temperature, or wiper operation also)

Thanks a lot for this info redbull-1.
But I guess this makes it all the more interesting.

Default quick modification

Your DRL should be on all the time. I have done a modification. From the fuse position, I wired out to a switch I installed next to the sunroof control. Then an in-line 10amp fuse. And finally back to the other side of the original fuse position. There are many times I don’t want the DRLs on. Now I have a choice.

QUOTE=DErh58;393506]Thanks @PAhonda for your time and responses.

Actually, I'll like to have it on a lot more. I like the looks. 😀
But yes, I'll have to leave it for now, since everything else works fine.

Thanks to everyone too (redbull-1, Seanjordan20) for your contributions. All were really helpful.

Best regards,[/QUOTE]
