ATF replacement

My answer, No.

Dealer or Carquest (at least the one close to where I live) would be my suggestion for finding it (OEF 08200-9008 )

Yes, Honda ATF Z1 is being replaced by Honda ATF DW1.

The shops say they use dex 3 with a friction inhibitor ????

Well, I gave you my answer. We all have opinions. At the end of the day it is your call, I personally would ONLY use Honda Trans fluid in any Honda from ~94 to present.
