By the way, Redbull-1, I just wanted you to know that I have been posting some of your posts from our thread on 6thgenaccord forum.

I have been giving you and Honda Accord Forum Credit when I cite you.

I hope that's ok. You just have really solved so many mysteries and I can imagine others might learn form our thread on Honda Accord Forum, or where ever they might find it, but I always give you and the forum credit.

The car also has a super low idle, but only after reaching normal operating temperature.

Do you think this "low idle when warm" could be related to that MCU?
Also, the alternator and voltage when driving is all haywire.

I use a vol-tom-eter in the Cig-Lighter when test driving it around the past couple days.

It chugs hard at ~750- ~500 rpm when slowing down to stop or idling while standing (in drive with foot on brake).

And the voltage and regen reads erratic!

Sometimes it goes away when i hit the turn signal. (from 12.00 volts and no charge, to 14.something with 50% charge.)

Is this something that could be related to the Voltage Regulator? Or the Alternator?

Maybe I should test them.

The MCU would not cause these other issues. You might want to start a new thread with these other issues; so, to keep things separate and less confusing to other people that may read this. You can copy and paste to create a new thread.

No really this time,

Success!!!!

You were right!

I replaced the driver's side Multiplex Control Unit with one from the junk yard and we have full functionality of all cabin illumination! They gave me the part for free.

Thats what it was. I opened up the old MCU and it was a circuit board with a processor. Everything looked fine, but smelled burnt. Popped in the new MCU, pulled out the jumper wire from the harness on the gauges, and, Presto! it's like a new Accord!

I'll address the the low idle, possibly voltage regulator or alternator issue on another thread at another time. There is probably many other threads on that subject.

Otherwise, the electrical is in perfect condition!

We can't thank you enough Redbull-1

Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!

Long term update:

Everything still perfect. The low idle was a vacuum leak at PCV hose.

No problems at all. 'Love these cars.
