Default cruise control doesn't work-01 accord

just bought an 01 accord bout a week & 1/2 ago, noticed on way home with it the cruise didn't work. have a 92 prelude, and when ever i had a problem- i was always able to find an answer here, so the first thing i did was check this site. my fuses are all good, my switches all work(even the brake pedal), lights all light up, but yet no cruise control. what i did notice, and im pretty sure this is the problem, just dont want to spend $200 to be wrong. there is a crack & a good size piece of plastic missing from the vacuum acuated servo. am i not getting a good vacuum resulting in no c.c. or is it an internally sealed unit & the housing just for looks?

Suggest temporarily patching the actuator w/ tape to see if that fixes the problem. You might be able to come up w/ a permnent patch, or look for a used part (car-part.com).

good luck

I'm doubtful tape will be a permanent solution. I've had good results using J&B Weld epoxy and rip-stop nylon to make patches and reinforcement of plastic pieces. Roughen the plastic surface w/ sand paper before starting.

Not worth a lot of effort as a used part is only $20-$30.

good luck
