If its anything like the 94 model, you dont even need to raise the car.Simply turn the wheels to the right to give clearance to the drain plug. I just made sure the ratchet was nice and snug in the hole and gave it a nice wack and it came loose. let it drain and then fill.

My 94 took about 2.7 quarts.

Do you get heat from your car? if your car's tstat is not working properly then it could cause problems it will cause the tq converter to unlock and lock. I had that problem in my 94 accord. it felt like it was going in and out of 4th but it was just locking and unlocking the converter. New tstat solved the problem

(car never reaches OT when it started getting cooler outside)

ORIGINAL: deserthonda

tranny fluid should be checked with engine off,, level surface.......

as for the shifting issues,, replace thr tranny fluid as adviced use Honda ATF-Z1 as suggested ,,,,,,,,,,
if still no luck,
remove the shift solenoids at top of tranny and blow carb cleaner in the passage , if you have compressed air, blow into the passage as well. clean the metal screen of any debris, put all back together,, make sure that the connections are ok ,,no broken or loose wiring
Yep I'm slow some days... I spent to long checking fluid in military trucks and gave you instructions for how to check those without even thinking.... Sorry about that...
