Please post questions like this in the General Tech section, I've moved this one for you.

First thing you need to do is get the codes from the ECU (CEL) and the TCU (D4). See this for help: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...threads-40780/

Sounds like an issue with the VSS but you want to get the codes to be sure and not go on a guess.

EDIT: I now see that you did post this question in this section as well. I deleted the dup questions/posts

Well that goes with what I was thinking.

You can do some more tests or find a used/new VSS and replace?

You're welcome, you're welcome.....our pleasure

A '91 with idle issues. Again do nothing until you know.

All tune up items need to be checked (cap, rotor, plugs, inspect wires) if you are not sure of their age.

A good TB (throttle body) cleaning never hurts.

From there, the IAC, FITV and the Air boost cleaning/adjustment would be on my list.

Try to get the "situation" when this happens, as you said, and it might help narrow down things.

Good luck

Thanks....speaking of the TB we had the air duct off and there's oil at the TB.....not a lot but oil....it seems to be sucking it from the little vac line..... but not sure. I wiped oil from the TB with my finger but didn't clean it good. Now today cold or hot it seams to idle ok....about 850 or so thanks
