2013 Accord problems with nav. and blutooth
I haven't gone past page 3 yet in this forum to see what the other replies are, but I just wanted everyone to know I've had the same problem. The sound was completely garbled through all speakers when I drove to work, but it was working fine when I took it to the dealership about three hours later.
As I said above, I took my Accord in today to get the computer softwear reinstalled. They gave me a Civic to drive so I thought I would get in the trunk and see what speakers they put in a Civic. I stand corrected. They do make cheeper speakers than what I have in the Accord and they put them in the Civic.
The service dept. also admitted that Honda only up dates there nav. maps every 3 to 4 years and the ones in the Accord are old. I explained that they are not just old but they don't even recognize roads in my area that are 10 or more years old and as a realtor I rely on them every day. If I have to go back to my dash mounted GPS I will expect a partial refund for that option.
I get the car back tomorrow and I will let you know how it goes.

Do you know if there is a website to log complaints? I don't trust talking with an actual human! I want the computer to give me a tracking number that I can use as a reference later!
Amazingly Honda does not have a website or email address. The only electronic method to contact Honda customer service is oddly via twitter (which I do not subscribe to). If you do call customer service, you do get a case number.

Recently purchased a 2013 Honda Accord V6 4 door -- began experiencing intermittent screeching sounds from the radio and also with bluetooth unable to hear caller just loud screeching noise. Other times radio works normal. Also, everyday first thing in the morning when backing out of driveway with camera display on as soon as switch to drive position the whole screen blacks out and remains that way although radio is playing but no display. Only way to correct is to turn radio or car off. Throughout rest of day this does not reoccur. Called Honda dealer where car was purchased and the Service Manager acted as if he could care less. I have placed a call with the salesman in hopes he can get me to someone who can help. Glad I checked this forum now at least I know it is not my imagination.
Hi everyone'
I apologize for not reporting my patch results sooner but I have been in a class. I was scheduled to take my car in Monday week ago for what my service manager called a patch. I reported my appointment to Honda cust. service like they requested and on the Friday before the appointment Honda service called me and informed me that my service manager was incorrect. There isn't a patch at this time and probably won't be till some time in Jan. When I asked her if there was anything new on the updating of the maps for my nav. she told me what I had was it and nothing would change till Honda's supplier came up with an update.
I am starting to ask myself at what point do I talk to an attorney to see what my options are. If my nav. system is truly the best I can expect I want to know if it is buyer beware or can I go back to Honda for failure to perform to industary standards. I think sooner or later they will find a fix for the software problems but the nav. system works as intended ( old junk )

Don, I'm on my 7th Honda Accord with Nav and in my experience, I've learned that not all areas of the country are updated every year. In fact when NavTeq had the contract, you could research whether there were any updates to your region prior to buying an update disc. It could be that if you are in a more rural area, you are just due an update next time around, although I don't know who the current map provider is. In my current car ('13 coupe) the maps are about a year old because some new construction appears here in Norther CA. My bigger issue is with the semi-restrictive nature of operating the Nav while moving. My old '05 Avalon had a similar product and I discovered a work around that I had to enter each time I started the car but at least I could use the whole thing while in motion. I'm wondering if it is just a matter of time before we find the back door for this one.
I purchased a 2013 Accord EX-L 2 weeks ago. A couple of days ago I started experiencing the schreehing noise coming from the speakers, especially on higher music notes. Also, I have problems with HFL. Sometimes a call is great! I can hear everything clearly. Then the very next call will be garbled and broken up. I also cannot get the entire contact list downloaded. They persons name and number will show up on the Call History. However, the name will not show when I receive a call, only the number. Then there is the LAG when you work through the menus. Sometimes it seems the whole system is locked up.
I called the salesman today. He checked with Service and they have not heard anything about updates to the system. Of course, they invite me to drop the car off so it can be checked out. They say they will be glad to give a me ride to where ever I need to go. I don't think they want to drive me the 55 miles I drive each way to work while they play with the car.
If anyone has information concerning when a fix will be out for the car I would appreciate the info. Then I call the dealer and get the car fixed.

Hi Russlittle, Thanks for the information but I don't think my nav. problems are outdated maps. The longer I use the nav. system the better I understand the issue. The system has all the correct names on the streets and I haven' found any that it didn't recognize. The problem is that when I put an address in, the system will come up with a route that may be 2 - 3 miles out of the way and it doesn't have anything to do with the settings ( shortest vs quickest). If I over ride the system by taking a road that I know to be shorter and faster it will lable the road as unverfied and not digitized and in some cases the road may be 15 - 20 years old. The other problem is if I miss a turn, instead of telling me to make a 'u' turn it will just let me keep going and route me several miles out of the way to get me back to the turn I missed. My dash mounted nav. system cost a tenth as much and worked ten times better.
This is not a good thing for a real estate agent.

Hey guys,
Finally had my appointment to bring the car in, for the variety of issues we've been discussing, plus the air pressure flutter that seems to be only me.
The service guy took thorough notes on everything I said, then I sat in the car with the tech and explained everything again. The tech was very defensive at first, saying that if I can't recreate the problem, it's done deal, and I'll have to try again some other time. But after explaining the intermittent nature, and being very patient, the tech eventually said she was familiar with other 2013 owners having issues, and she knows there is a patch scheduled to come out in January. I'm supposed to get a call on Wednesday next week with an exact date for the patch. They were easily able to hear the flutter, which I was happy about because my wife does not notice it. They're going to look into that and attempt a fix after learning more about the car. Since they have to see it again for the audio patch, hopefully they can figure out the air flutter before then, and make it two quick fixes in the same visit. I told them it sounded great, I was just happy to get the problem documented, and make sure I was in the system as a new owner driving a car around that isn't fixed. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else. PS, I really had time to play with the audio settings, there is no bass whatsoever in this car. It really is sooooo bad that I am actually starting to get hopeful that the software patch actually makes an improvement to the stereo. Wow is it bad. Does anyone know of a site or business that rates stock radios, maybe some car audio enthusiast web site or something? It would be fun to hear their take on the system.
