Default 2007 Accord SE security hood switch - Not working

My car got broken into the other day and a bunch of stuff stolen. Looks like they even tried to take the battery. I just bought some wheel locks and the Hood switch for the security system, but the hood switch isn't working.

The "Security System Hood Switch" from Honda has a P/N of 08E49-SDA-100.

I followed the instructions step by step, part by part. All the electrical connections are good, I've reseated them but it's still not working.

I've tried:
-Setting the alarm while someone was inside, having them pull the hood release and then opening it
- Trying to trigger the sensor with a flat head screwdriver

Neither works & I'm just about to take a crow bar to it and see if that's what I have to do to get it to work.

I have no idea what else to do. Can anyone please help me.

Do you have the factory security system or just keyless entry?

Can you trip the sensor just by opening and closing the switch when it's not installed?

As far as I know, it has the security system. I will take a look this weekend when I have time to verify that it does. I don't see why it wouldn't. I assume I would be looking for these parts when I take the drive side panel off: http://www.handa-accessories.com/acc...d-security.pdf

I also tried to trip the sensor with the hood open and the latch not installed, but it still did not work.
EDIT: The alarm does sound when I hit the Panic button on the fob. Not sure if it's tied in with the security system or not, but I thought I would mention that.

I figured it out. Turns out my car doesn't have the security system in place (It's a 4cyl). I'll be purchasing that asap. Thanks for the response!
